Shoulder Pain/Injury

Shoulder pain is very common and it contributes about 18% of all musculoskeletal disorders. There are different reasons for shoulder pain. The most common reasons are;

  • Shoulder impingement (trapped tendon)
  • Frozen shoulder
  • sports injuries - cartilage, ligament and muscle injuries
  • Osteoarthritis of shoulder
  • The rate of injury is very common probably because the shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the human body which means it is naturally stabilised by the muscle groups around the shoulder. Mostly, the shoulder pain is caused by poor activation and strength of core muscles around shoulder (called rotator cuff muscles) leads to have altered movement pattern which in return cause debilitating pain and affect the quality of life such as sleeping, getting dressed and hobbies.

    There is growing evidence suggesting early interventions by having targeted physiotherapy helps in alleviate the symptoms. At Relive Physiotherapy, our physiotherapists are specialised in identifying the cause of the shoulder pain by thorough examination and tailor the treatment plan. The treatment focused;

  • To alleviate the pain by maximising the muscle strength
  • To restore all the function through joint and soft tissue mobilisation.
